Reiki FAQ — Let’s Clear Some Things Up

Q: What is Reiki, really?

A: Reiki is an ancient form of energy healing that works with your body’s natural life force to promote deep healing—physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

It’s like energetic chiropractic for your soul. You don’t have to “believe” in it for it to work. Energy doesn’t need your permission—it just needs space.

Q: Do you touch me during the session?

A: Nope. I don’t use physical touch in my Reiki sessions. Everything is done through intentional energy work, and it’s just as effective whether you’re lying on the table in my office or chilling in your bed halfway across the country.

Q: Can Reiki really help with anxiety, physical pain, trauma, etc.?

A: Yes. Because here’s the thing—your nervous system doesn’t forget what your mind tries to ignore. Reiki works at the root, not just the symptoms. Whether it’s tension in your shoulders, chronic burnout, grief, or the pressure of holding it all together, Reiki helps regulate, release, and realign.

Q: What does it feel like?

A: Everyone experiences Reiki differently—but common sensations include warmth, tingling, waves of emotion, deep relaxation, visuals or memories surfacing, and a sense of “lightness” after the session. Some clients even fall asleep (which is 100% welcome).

Q: Is this religious or “woo”?

A: Energy is not a religion. Reiki doesn’t ask you to follow anything or believe in anything outside yourself. This is about reconnecting with you. The work is sacred—not because it’s fluffy, but because it’s real. If you're looking for grounded, no-fluff energy healing—you’re in the right place.

Q: How often should I get Reiki?

A: That depends on what you’re carrying. Some clients come in monthly for tune-ups. Others come weekly during periods of heavy processing or life transition. At the end of your session, I’ll give you honest feedback on what I recommend based on what came through in your energy field.

Q: Will Reiki make my problems go away?

A: Reiki is powerful—but it’s not a magic wand.

It clears, supports, realigns, and helps you access the deeper layers of what’s been stored in your body... but it won’t do the healing for you.

If you’re looking for a quick fix while still avoiding your emotions, skipping the self-work, and staying in survival mode—Reiki won’t override your resistance. But if you’re ready to meet yourself where you are and let the energy guide your healing, you’ll be amazed at what can shift.

Q: Does this replace my doctor or therapist?

A: No. Reiki is a complement to your care—not a replacement.
I’m not a medical professional or therapist, and I won’t pretend to be. But what I am is a trauma-informed energy healer who knows how to hold safe space for the things your body has carried silently for way too long. If you're working with a doctor or mental health professional, Reiki can support your healing from the inside out—helping your nervous system integrate, release, and soften the sharp edges. This is whole-person work, not either/or.
